So 4:15 am Friday morning we were up getting ready to go. I am NOT a morning person so this was a little difficult for me. My daughter was bright eyed and bushy tailed.* sigh* We made it to the 6:30 Port Townsend ferry with plenty of time to spare. We arrived in La Conner a little after 8:00, so we found a little place to have breakfast. Then we headed for Roozen Gaarde. Their display garden area was beautiful. It is hard to believe they redesign and replant the display gardens every year.
My daughter's favorite color is orange, so these were her favorites.
This display with the purple, hot pink, and orange was my favorite.
After we looked at all the display gardens, we headed across the street to the very muddy fields.
I think being different, going against the grain of society is the greatest thing in the world.

These are just the most amazing tulips I have ever seen. I love the way the bright and seemingly clashing colours actually work so well together. I would want to skip for joy amongst them all too! Thank you for joining me on Country Kids.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I lived in the Pacific Northwest for a zillion years and never got to this Festival. Now we are in Florida in the Spring and I don't even ever see one tulip, let alone those beautiful fields.!!! I love this post. Thank you.

What a gorgeous place! I wish tulips grew better here without having to replant the bulbs every year or two.
ReplyDeleteEven in the rain, the tulip fields are gorgeous as are your shots! Please check out my MYM. I too was photographing the tulips in the Skagit Valley.
